In rural New Jersey was a diamond in the rough for Swedish Agenta, David, and their three children. The wooden building from 1862 with big porches, after much wear has become itself again – and then some.
The small town of Hillsborough is located in the state of New Jersey, about one and a half hour trip from New York. Here, in a classic Victorian villa, lives ten years ago the family Coutts consisting of Transcript in Swedish Agneta with her American husband David and triplets Christopher, Harrison and Sara who just turned teenagers. A cat and two dogs fit well in the household.
Living
Brick wall and ceiling beams were produced at the building’s extensive renovation. Armchairs, sofa, coffee table and floor lamps from Restoration Hardware. A stack of old bank books from the 1910s, purchased at an antique market in Pennsylvania, may serve as an end table. The carpet was bought by a traveling salesman. Dining
dining room is furnished with Swedish Gustavian-style furniture and classic blue checked elements. The table is a reproduction with three extra leaves imported from Linköping, as well as the chairs. Chutes Sofa from Antique Farm in Mariefred. Sconce from Ikea’s 1700s series, home made curtains.
Hallway
carpet is old and bought in a market. Stair railings and floors are original. The side table is a flea market finds, table lamp from Aidan Gray and mirror from Home goods. Vase in the poor man’s silver bought for a dollar at the flea market.
Bedroom
Bedding from Pottery barn, Restoration Hardware, Ralph Lauren and Ikea. Antique bench purchased in Red Bank, New Jersey. Gardiner, Restoration Hardware. The chair is antique and bought at an antique market in Pennsylvania. Single Lamp Home goods. The carpet is semi antique and bought by a traveling salesman.
Bathroom
From the freestanding tub can enjoy views over the grounds. Rug from Pottery barn and mirror from Home goods. Curtains from Ikea and towel Ralph Lauren.
