Eileen Gray designed in 1929 this side table for her sister, who likes breakfast in bed when he visited in his summer home, Masion de bord de mer, in Saint Tropez, France.
He is known as the house with the name E 1027, these letters have a meaning: E by name, the J 10 and 2 on B (the tenth and the second letter of the alphabet, and forming the initials of his companion, Jean Bodovici), and 7 G, Gray. Currently he is an icon of twentieth century industrial design.
