Once again, Home Decor has been a success. Top professionals and interior decoration, established and new, have shown us their proposals. This time was the original circular of the former British Embassy building, located in the central district of Chamberi, which has welcomed the initiative.
Under the slogan “We took the Embassy,” more than 50 architects and interior designers have decorated their 3,900 square meters spread over three floors. Have also been organized interesting workshops, conferences and events of all kinds related to decoration, art and design. No corner has been without remodeling, from outdoor patios, stairs, hallway and even the facade, to each and every one of their rooms.
The “British” as expected, has been very present, either by the use of the colors of the British flag, the English colonial style of various furniture, sofas and decorative elements or some Giño their icons. It has been also found that, as in fashion, everything is vintage trend, like recycling and the use of painted paper and textiles generally low cost materials. The crisis sharpens the wit and wonderful solutions it develops on a budget.
As a novelty, this year, a jury of professionals from different areas of the sector (José Antonio Granero, Dean of the College of Architects of Madrid; Menene Gras, Director of Culture and Exhibitions of Casa Asia; Armiñán Beatriz Perez, Director of the Habitania magazine, Mercedes Perez de Castro, Director of the School of Design IADE and architect Teresa Sapey) have delivered the first Awards for Interior Decoration and that, in the words of Natacha Wapine, director of Casa Decor, born with the vocation “to promote the reputation” of the professionals who participated.
The Jury Prize was awarded ex-aequo, decorators Alfons Tost and Beatriz Silveira.
the space Alfons Tost, Sweet Home Relax, the jury praised “the great care of the whole, balance and harmony, which creates an atmosphere of wellness and relaxation from an approach that combines classical sensibility with contemporary principles. ” And the space created by Beatriz Silveira, Open Living, has been chosen for being “a solution that combines two spaces and functions without any lose its character and functionality, integrating harmoniously furniture, details and pieces designed by the author in a set of extraordinary interest and value. ”
